Brazil – NB-IoT LTE Requirements in Brazil

ANATEL published last week a public consultation about new technical requirements for Terminals and Base Station radios using NB-IoT technology. See annex.

After the end of this public consultation, ANATEL will analyze the suggestions and publish the final version. Once it is published, it will be possible to homologate devices using NB-IoT in Brazil.

It is important to remember that every party interested on the process may contribute to an ANATEL public consultation. The summary of the new requirements follows below (Public Consultation 45):

Create Technical requirements for NB-IoT technology.

* Terminal Access Station – NB-IoT LTE Cat. M1 – ETSI TS 136 521-1 V14.4.0 (2017-11)
* Terminal Access Station – NB-IoT Cat. NB1 – ETSI TS 136 521-1 V14.4.0 (2017-11)
* NB-IoT Base Station Transmitter – ETSI TS 136 141 V15.3.0 (2018-07)
